This Denim Month, Calexico are partnering with local Not-For-Profit organisation Drought Angels and we would like for you to join us!
Farmers are some of the proudest people in Australia, but the reality is that our dry climates make for sustained periods of drought, jeopardising our once-thriving Australian agriculture. Aussie Farmers are the backbone of our country and work tirelessly to put food on our tables, but in times of drought, they need our help and support.
By donating your old pairs of jeans, you have the ability to impact the lives of thousands of Aussie farmers and their families who constantly battle against our harsh drought conditions that threaten their livestock and ability to generate livelihood.
Not only do your old jeans go towards supporting Australian agriculture and rural communities, but you are also giving your jeans the chance to be loved and worn by someone else. By supporting this movement for sustainable fashion, you directly impact the way in which Australia approaches eco-friendly fashion disposal.
From here at Calexico, the jeans are then taken to select stores where they are sold again, with the profits going directly to Aussie farming families and communities in need, allowing for them to sustain the generational legacies that allow us to have access to such rich, fresh, home-grown produce.
A not-for-profit charity, relying on public and corporate donations, Drought Angels are receiving no government funding. Who would’ve thought your jeans could make such a difference? So, out with the old, in with the new! We are on hand in store to take your denim donations, with our stylists equipped to help you #FindYourFit amongst countless incredible international labels if you’re looking to replace them…
